Hi all, this post is a departure from my usual "what's on" posts. It's a review on my latest trombone related purchase, the "Soulo Tenor Trombone Bucket Mute".
Mike Jarosz, the owner and creator of Soulo Mutes has asked me to share my thoughts online.
In the past, I've used a classic red and white Humes and Berg bucket. They sound great but they are a little awkward to get on and off, especially in a hurry.
So, I ordered the Soulo mute after reading many recommendations, and I'm so VERY happy with it. It's extremely easy and fast to take on and off using one only hand... and I love the sound and the way it feels. I haven't used it in a big band situation, but I think that an entire section using these would sound fantastic!

A perfect purchase, and I'll no doubt be replacing my bass bucket next year when this show finishes and I'm back in the freelance world again.
Thanks Mike, a great product.
